Stop panic-tapping: tower defence layout basics
Most people lose tower defence levels in the first thirty seconds, before a single enemy appears. They plonk towers wherever there's space and hope. The fix is boring but it works: think about the path, not the towers.
Find the longest stretch of road and treat it like prime real estate. Anything that slows enemies belongs near the start of that stretch, so your damage dealers get the most time on target.
Layering matters more than upgrading. A fully upgraded single tower almost always loses to two cheap towers covering each other's weaknesses. We saw this clearly testing Last Rampart, where lane geometry does half the work.
Finally, leave yourself spare cash early. The temptation is to spend everything, but a small reserve lets you react when a wave surprises you. Reacting beats regretting.
