Ironvale Chronicles is a proper mobile RPG that doesn't assume you have forty hours spare. Combat is turn-based with a twist: you can delay a character's action to chain combos, which turns every fight into a tiny planning puzzle.
The writing is better than it needs to be. Side characters have opinions, and some of them stick around long enough that you start caring. Loot is generous without being a slot machine of stats — upgrades feel meaningful.
Menus are the one rough spot; inventory sorting is fiddly on a smaller screen. But the core loop of exploring, fighting, and tuning your party kept us coming back for a solid two weeks.
